A Chicago Police officer was hit by a taxi while chasing a suspect in the South Loop neighborhood last year, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday in Cook County Circuit Court.

Kevin Osborn filed the lawsuit claiming he suffered “temporary and permanent disabling injuries to his head, body and limbs” when he was stuck about 8 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day in 2015 at the corner of South Wabash Avenue and East Roosevelt Road, the suit said.

The taxi was traveling northbound on Wabash when it struck the uniformed police officer, according to the suit.

The two-count suit was filed against the taxi driver and City Service Taxi Association, and seeks an unspecified amount in damages.

A representative from City Service Taxi Association could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday evening.
