Five people were shot Saturday afternoon, four of them fatally, in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The shooting happened at 12:39 p.m. in the 100 block of West 105th Street, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a CPD spokesman.
Four of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene while the fifth was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Jeff Lyle said.
Additionally, a 2-year-old boy was transported from the scene to Roseland Community Hospital for observation, but he was not injured, according to police and fire officials.
Further details, including the victims’ ages and genders, were not immediately available.
