Two teenage boys were shot Thursday evening in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side, leaving one critically hurt.
Just after 7 p.m., a gunman walked up to them and opened fire in the 1300 block of West 103rd Street, hitting a 16-year-old in the chest, abdomen and foot, and grazing the head of a 17-year-old, according to Chicago Police.
They were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the younger boy was in critical condition. The 17-year-old’s condition was stabilized.
Police initially said the shooting happened in the 10200 block of South Malta but later corrected that.
