(GARY, Ind.) A body was found in the Little Calumet River Monday in Gary, Indiana.
Two fishermen spotted the body in the river and contacted the DNR and Gary police, according to a statement from Gary police.
The body was recovered from the river about 12:20 p.m. in the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Drive, police said. The person was declared dead at scene by the Lake County coroner’s office.
The identity of the person and cause of death are unknown and remain under investigation.
