(EVANSTON) A 67-year-old woman who fell into Lake Michigan while walking on a pier was rescued and taken to a hospital in critical condition Saturday afternoon in north suburban Evanston.
Crews were called about 4:45 p.m. to the boat ramp at 1701 Sheridan Road, according to Evanston police. Another person had pulled her to shore and started performing CPR by the time paramedics arrived.
She was taken to Evanston Hospital, where she was in critical “but stable” condition, police said.
Evanston detectives are investigating how she ended up in the water.
