(ELGIN) A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train Tuesday night on the Milwaukee District West line between Chicago and northwest suburban Elgin.
Metra announced about 9:45 p.m. that train 2250 struck the pedestrian on the line, but did not immediately provide a location for the incident. A map of train locations on Metra’s website showed the train stropped east of Bensenville.
Train 2254, which was scheduled to depart Big Timber Road at 9:10 p.m. was canceled, Metra said. Train 2251, scheduled to depart from Union Station at 8:40 p.m., was also canceled.
Extensive delays on the line were expected.
