A woman died after her ATV collided with a SUV near west suburban Aurora on Saturday.

Deputies responded to a report of an ATV crash about 6:40 p.m. on Terry Avenue at McDonald Avenue in unincorperated Aurora, according to the Kane County sheriff’s office.

A Polaris ATV driven by 30-year-old Jacqueline Lowry was traveling west on McDonald Road and failed to stop at a stop sign, the sheriff’s office said. The ATV entered the intersection and struck the side of a Ford Explorer that was being driven south on Terry Avenue and did not have a stop sign.

Lowry, of the 1100 block of Ridgeway in Aurora, was taken to Mercy Center Hospital and flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, the sheriff’s office said. The Kane County coroner’s office contacted the sheriff’s office at 12:30 a.m. Sunday to report Lowry died.

No one in the Ford Explorer was injured, the sheriff’s office said. The crash remained under investigation Sunday morning. No tickets were issued.
