UPDATES WITH FATALITY CONFIRMED, AGE AND GENDER
A 34-year-old man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday afternoon in the South Loop.
Officers responded about 12:55 p.m. to a report of a person shot in the 500 block of South Michigan Avenue and found the person with a gunshot wound, according to Chicago Police.
The wound was determined to be self-inflicted, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
An autopsy hadn’t yet confirmed the death as a suicide.
