(NUNDA TWP.) One rider was critically injured when two motorcycles collided Sunday afternoon in the northwest suburbs.
A 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading south on Roberts Road near Lamphere Road in unincorporated Nunda Township at 3:28 p.m. when it sideswiped a 2011 Harley Davidson headed in the same direction, according to a statement from the McHenry County sheriff’s office.
The driver of the 2014 Harley, a 45-year-old Wood Dale man, was ejected from his bike, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition with “life-threatening injuries.”
The other motorcyclist, a 64-year-old Des Plaines man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Neither driver was wearing a helmet, according to the sheriff’s office.
Roberts Road was closed for about four hours after the crash.
