UPDATES WITH CHARGES FILED
A man has been charged with striking a woman with his SUV late Friday in the Ravenswood neighborhood on the North Side.
Jesus Feliciano, 35, was charged with misdemeanor counts of leaving the scene of an accident, and driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Chicago Police. He was also cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, failure to reduce speed, failure to keep in lanes, and failure to use a signal to change lanes.
Feliciano was driving an SUV about 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 4400 block of North Ashland when he swerved into the woman’s car as she unloaded it, pinning her between the vehicles, police said.
The 19-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries to her leg. A toddler sitting in a safety seat inside her car was unharmed, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution, police said.
Feliciano, of the Albany Park neighborhood, is scheduled to appear in traffic court May 24.
