CORRECTS ADDRESS PER POLICE
A 17-year-old boy was shot in the head on Tuesday afternoon in the Jefferson Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
About 4:45 p.m., he was outside in the 4900 block of North Milwaukee when someone got out of a silver minivan, opened fire and then drove away, according to Chicago Police.
The teen ran and collapsed nearby in the 5400 block of West Higgins, police said. Paramedics then took him in critical condition to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, police said.
No one was in custody for the shooting.
Another 17-year-old boy was gunned down less than a mile away in the same neighborhood earlier this month.
