A police SWAT team was called to a Jeffery Manor neighborhood home where someone barricaded himself Monday evening on the Far South Side.
Officers initially responded at 5:10 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the 9800 block of South Bensley, according to Chicago Police.
A male was still refusing to give himself up to authorities as the standoff continued at 9:30 p.m., police said.
A separate barricade situation that lasted nearly five hours in Little Village earlier on Monday ended with a 68-year-old man being found fatally shot.
