UPDATE: Man shot in Grand Crossing in serious condition

A man was wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

About 12:40 p.m., the 25-year-old was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle as it drove in the 7400 block of South Kimbark, according to Chicago Police. A person on foot began shooting at the vehicle and the 25-year-old was shot in the back and suffered a graze wound to his head.

A friend took him to University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. He was later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
