UPDATES WITH AUTOPSY RESULTS
(EVANSTON) A man reported missing in Evanston was found dead Wednesday along the lakeshore in the north suburb.
Andrew Pappas, 45, had last been seen on Saturday near his home in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue, according to Evanston police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. A family member reported him missing on Tuesday.
About 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, little more than an hour after police released an alert about his disappearance, the department received a call of a body against the rocks in Lake Michigan near Garden Park at 626 Sheridan Square, authorities said.
He was removed from the water and identified Pappas.
An autopsy Thursday did not rule on his cause and manner of death pending further investigation, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Police said there was no sign of foul play.
