(GILBERTS) A Kane County man is $250,000 richer after his lottery ticket matched the winning numbers in a drawing last month.
Steven Scott of Gilberts won the prize when his Lucky Day Lotto ticket matched all five winning numbers – 05 – 22 – 31 – 33 – 43 – in the evening drawing on Dec. 22, according to a statement from the Illinois Lottery.
“I’m going to pay bills and put the rest of this money in the bank,” Scott said when he redeemed his ticket.
Pop’s Pantry, 1195 N. McLean Boulevard in Elgin, received a bonus of $2,500, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
