A man was shot early Thursday in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the Lower West Side.
At 1:43 a.m., the 38-year-old man was standing outside in the 2200 block of West 21st Street when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the chest, according to Chicago Police.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
