Trains on Metra’s BNSF Railway line were delayed because of mechanical problems Wednesday morning.
Inbound train No. 1206, which was scheduled to arrive at Union Station at 6:35 a.m., was operating about 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule because of a mechanical problem, according to a service alert from Metra. It will run express from Brookfield to Chicago.
Train No. 1212, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 7 a.m., will accommodate other passengers and make intermediate stops, Metra said. It was operating about seven minutes behind schedule.
