(HINSDALE) A man was fatally struck by a Metra train Friday night in west suburban Hinsdale.
BNSF Train #1275 was traveling outbound to Aurora about 6:20 p.m. when it struck the pedestrian at the railway’s intersection with South Stough Street, near the West Hinsdale station, according to Metra Spokesman Michael Gillis.
The pedestrian was identified as 58-year-old William D. Kohlsaat of Burr Ridge, according to the DuPage County coroner’s office. He died of multiple blunt force trauma.
