A man was shot in the head and killed Thursday in Roseland on the South Side.
Jumiah Perkins, 47, was outside on a sidewalk about 6:30 p.m. in the 10500 block of South Wabash Avenue when two people approached him, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
One of the pair took out a handgun and fired shots, striking Perkins once in the head, authorities said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The duo wore black scarves and fled on foot eastbound, police said. No arrests have been reported.
Area South detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
