UPDATES WITH PERSON RELEASED
A person of interest has been released after a man was fatally shot Friday night in the South Side Chatham neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.
Just after 10 p.m., the 34-year-old victim was shot in the chest by someone he knew during a fight inside a home in the 8000 block of South Evans, police said.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name had not been released as of Monday morning.
Area South detectives questioned a person of interest after the shooting, but that person was released without being charged.
