UPDATES WITH DETAILS
CTA Green and Pink Line service has resumed Tuesday morning after a man on the tracks suspended service for hours in the West Loop.
Police were called about 2:30 a.m. for reports of a man wearing a hospital band running back and forth on the tracks between Morgan and Carpenter, and threatening to jump, according to Chicago Police.
The CTA cut power to the tracks, and a SWAT team and police negotiators were called to the scene.
Green Line service was suspended between the California and Clark/Lake stations, and Pink Line trains were only running to Polk, then connecting with the Blue Line at Racine.
About 8:15 a.m., the man came down from the tracks and was taken to Stroger Hospital for evaluation. Police denied reports that a flash bang was used to get him down.
Normal service on the Green and Pink Line has resumed.
